Are You Drinking Too Much Water?

There is so much information on the web that it may be hard for the average individual to determine what information is the truth and what information should be disregarded. Well Reese is here to save the day (and your time of course! lol). Now, is there a such thing as drinking too much water? In short, of course! Because we live in a society where people tend to not drink enough water it is very easy to overlook the polar opposite. Many self proclaimed experts like to tell people to drink a gallon a day and this is the quickest way to ruin your body. A gallon of water should only be consumed a day if a person weighs at least 240 lbs. I don't know the average weight of Americans but (googles really quickly) i'm sure that it is not near 240 lbs.

There are many factors that will play a role in the amount of water you consume. The first factor is weight. I usually start my clients off with half of their body weight in ounces. This means that if a person weighs 120 lbs then they should consume 60 ounces of water daily (120/2=60). The next factor is lifestyle. Obviously, if a person is more active then the need for water would increase. Diet is the last factor. The more raw fruits and vegetables that are consumed means that your requirement for water decreases because raw fruits and vegetables contain water. So next time you hear someone starting a detox or fast just send them the link to this blog so that they wont kill themselves by accident.
